Default d16a6 boosted and n/a post your setups!

for all those sohc non-vtec people running d16a6's under their hood i want to see how others are doing it. just curious to how many people choose to use them and also post up dyno and track times if you can.

stock d16a6 with usual intake and full exhaust with 4-2-1... ebay junk but works. Playing around with porting of the intake manifold... basically opening it up more and more until it breaks.

slowly working on gathering all the stuff for turbo setup, really only have some piping, modified oil pan, and money so far... waiting to get work truck before going turbo, figure it will be off the road for 2 weeks or so to do it. (probably 2 months)

why d16a6??? Because i now have 6 of them, 4 of which ran when yanked from the cars, and 5 of them were free, the first one cost me a set of really ugly red race seats. Plus i have yet to hear from anyone the real disadvantage of the single cam D series... other than intake size issues... and vtec is as important to me as jdm.

your disadvantage with teh a6 is in the IM/cam combo. the sohc non vtec zc is the exact same motor but with a different cam and is rated at 10hp more than the USDM a6. add a z6 IM and maybe a little bigger TB, and you should be the same, if not more hp than a z6 or y8

p29 pistons, crane 251-0012 cam, dc header, intake exhaust. It does ok but i would like a ported head and tuning.

i have a z6 manifold and tb awaiting installment. you really think you can get more hp then a z6 and y8 just from IM?
