Default ok b16 revert question

alright. my friend has b16 in his crx and is currently unhappy with how it is performing. he just bought it and it isnt pushing the power it should. i got took by a stock rsx type s and i should have beat it by atleast 2 cars with the stuff he has. Okay heres my question we want to take off the GSXR ITB setup, the eriks racing reburn ecu, wrx injectors are currently installed but dont know if should leave in or take out replace with b16 injectors, also the o2 sensors have been changed to bosh 1 wire o2s do these need to be replaced, finally take out the stand alone fuel system (mega squirt). What do we need to buy to do this. The ecu we want to use is spoon pw0.

Ok you will need a b series intake manifold and throttle body. I would replace the injectors with stock honda peak and hold injectors (240cc). I am running 2 bosch sensors on my b16a with no problems so unless the O2 sensors are fouled there is no reason to replace them.

My only question is has the engine been tuned for the itbs?? They can be difficult to tune and you might want to try to have it tuned before you go ahead and rip the system out.

havent had it tuned yet. we really wanna replace the stand alone fuel injection (mega squirt) i dont want to have to program the stuff that a good programmed ecu already does for you.

actually if you are refering the thing with bubble wrap thats the stock harness for b16 injectors we have ready incase the wrx injectors fail we can plug and play with b16. smart move no need to knock.

I agree. You need to have this tuned. You can not just put these on and call it a day. It takes time to have these dialed in right. if you were tuned you would have walked that rsx.

go find a real tuner... you know you found a real one cause you will pay alot of money. Go to a dyno and let the tuner tune it.

I tried to get it tuned...no success there arent too many places out here that will even touch it (Northern Indiana) I bought the car how it is and question how efficient the fuel management is (megasquirt) Its definately not tuned well...the ITBs are playing as if they were a regular intake. The other problem is my vtec...everything is hooked up...but it barely hits. I plan on just getting rid of ITB's and management and doing everything myself to be sure of what i have...i wont have to worry about tuning it properly all the time.

Remove your rev limiter and take out an indescriminate amount of fuel that isn't even close to tailored to your engine? ****, I could do that with my eyes closed. Fine a good uberdata tuner in your area or do it yourself. It's waaaay worth it. You don't have hardware problems, you just need a good tune.

Keep the ITBs.

Ditch megasquirt and the WRX injectors.

VTEC shouldn't "hit hard". If you feel a hard pull at x-over, then your VTEC is set wrong.

Bro,

Get it tuned. Unless that rsx-s was b'sing, there is no way it should have been close.

Also, what kind of mods are in this engine?

if you can find a megasquirt tuner try it. thats most likely what i would use if i was to put a 20v into my corolla and its what most people use when they swap a 20v and tune it. if you look on club4ag you might be able to find a tuner on there thats closer than you think. it is mostly a so cal website but people from all over are on it. cams and compression would probably really help the itb setup also. much more fun than reverting back to stock. unless you were going to boost it.
