I have TSX projectors. They are just as good as S2000, both made by Stanley. Expect to pay more for them though. I paid $500 for OEM TSX projectors, OEM TSX bulbs, and E46 Ballasts from ebay. Totally worth it.

TSX projectors can be had for around $200-250. The s2000 are still better, but not by much. I believe TSX projectors are getting more support because they are a lot easier to install. I have s2000 projectors right now in my closet and am wondering how to mount that bitch. In retrospect, I should have goen with either a TL or a TSX because of the easier mounting.

I have a set of TSX Projectors (still in th oem housings)...

I need to pick up the Inverters and the Bulbs. It's a shame that priorities are elsewhere on the car and the retrofit will have to wait. I guess I would probably sell the projectors. Anyone want to make an offer?

S2000 may be slightly wider and brighter, but not mor colorful.
The TSX and S2000 is very similar in shape, and one is not easier to install then the other..especially in a ITR...it might be the case in a small housing such as a del sol. TL would be a nightmare. That projector is soooooooooooo big. I don't know what you are basing it on, but a TL would not be easier to retrofit than a TSX or a S2000 projector.

Jon, we're still waiting for those headlights.

If you look at the projectors of the s2000, there is barely any room to drill the mounting holes. Whereas the TSX and TL projectors have a little more room for that. That to me = harder install. Plus it is agreed amongst many that s2000 are a bitch to install.

Whatever that means. We don;t drill any of our projectors.

Many, huh? Look, I'm not saying that retrofitting is cake, but a TL is not easier than a S2000.

How do you mount the HID prjectors if you dont drill holes?

I had to drill holes to mount them onto the headlight bracket. You can only fit three bolts on the s2k projector, making it way harder to mount. Also, the s2ks are very sharp, so trying to align them will be a task. If its just a tad off, you will notice it on the cutoff.

Im not saying that the TL or TSX are easier, never had the experience to play with these peojectors, but the s2ks were a pain in my ***

Well the only ITR we have done so far was DC2R714, and we used TSX projectors.

We will sooner or later do Jon D's retro using TSX projectors also.

I don't remember exactly how the ITR headlight looked, so I can't tell you specifically how to mount the S2000 projectors, but with over 150 headlight sets retrofitted, I can't even recall drilling holes into stanley projectors.

You are right though about a few degrees making the difference.

I would like to know how you guys are mounting them without drilling holes. That would be SOOOO much easier without measuring, alinging, and drilling holes.

Yep, a few degrees off, cutoff will be off.

Your cutoff HID pics was what inspired me to get mine done. Mine is almost as sharp as yours I have to tweak the alignment a bit still.

Nate. Just remember that you have color modded TSX projectors. The cutoff will not be as sharp as the S2000. When you adjust it, remember to go by the bottom cutoff on the left side, and not by the prism colors.

No 60W here im cool with the stock wattage, 35W. (lol im not even sure if you can mod 60w, probably but very hard to do) ...I saw one of your work in the HID retrofit club thread and the tsx looks great man!

^^^

Thanks bro.

Yeah I think I have seen as high as 75W ballasts. There are adjustable ones that allow you to choose between 35 to 50 to 65.

Really bright...of course you are reducing the life time of the bulbs, but still...several thousand hours is still plenty.

I see, and i think you can only do it to Denso ballasts also. and yeah it sure kills the ballasts and bulb life.
