i only got 3 mounts...but on the website (i ordered directly), it shows/lists four mounts... and i also didn't get instructions. is this the norm from them? and where does the 4th mount come from?

 

i got the same thing, i bought the kit used, but in the instructions it only lists 3pcs, blown90hatch will clear it up for you, you can also run with 3 mounts, hope that helps.

 

well the ENITIRE reason i bought HCP was cuz it was the only '4 mount kit on the market'...i feel kind of jipped. i mean, it even has pictures of four mounts on the website and points them all out.

 

i say send the kit back...i would have if i had bought the mounts new!

 

Yeah the HCP kit only comes with three mounts. I was a little pissed also when I got my mounts, and there were only three. But when I took the B18 outta mine doner Teg I found out why there are only three. The front mount isn't needed. When I took the front mount off the engine, the rubber insert just fell out. The car felt fine and everything when I drove it, and the engine was really only in with the three mounts. So I figure if an integra runs and drives fine with three, so should my Rex.

 

Honda does not use the front mount for engine control. It is used to integrate the front end in certain types of front end collisions. A lot of people do not use the front mount on HCP kits because the vibration is pretty harsh.

i know i don't *have* to have all 4 mounts, but when it says that i'm getting 4 mounts...i expect to get FOUR mounts. not something like i get 3 mounts unless i specifically ASK for the 4th mount...i mean, it says right smack dab on the website that i get FOUR mounts...and it even points them out to me!

 

Mine came with four mounts and I HATE it. I'm pulling that POS out and putting in the HASport billet mounts. If anyone wants them, let me know. I bought them 2 months ago for $320 so I'll probably sell them for half. Both my front and rear crossmembers are metal on metal with the mounts so my car shakes like crap.

well i got the EF-18X kit from hcp and it came with the front mount but i didn't use cause it didnt line up correctly so hot_EF i will send you mine if you want it...it proably wont line up though..i have other friends who have bought the ef-18 kit and the front mount didn't line up either...

I had to modify my rear mount. but it didn't line up correctly. The rear mount has three hole, one in front and two in back, I had to enlongate the front because it was about halt centemeter to far up. Haven't installed the other mounts yet, but I really hope they go smoother than the rear mount.

I think that you have the old version. That is prolly why you hate them.

That is correct, it doenst line directly up. You have to remove the cross member and cut the tabs and redrill the hole. It isnt that the kit doenst line up, it is that the installer didnt make it line up.

 

i'm going to call them monday....but if for whatever reason i don't get a new front mount out of it, i'll take you up on that offer!!!!

 

the only reason your car would shake is because you didn't bend all the places you were suppose to and the mounts are urethane so it's pretty stiff i'm happy with mine.

 

I cut the front and rear crossmembers accordingly. The main problem is the rear bracket that bolts to the block/tranny hits the rear crossmember. I'd have to hack away a lot more crossmember than I'd feel comfortable with in order for it to clear.
