for all the SOHC ZC pepole?????????????
ok i would like to build my cyl head but im fairly new to this so i was wondering what would be the best cam other than the stock ZC to buy and also springs ,retainers and valves any ideas and or prices?
i hav this same swap in my crx if u want very good performance for low cost here are the mods witch i plan on doing, get a d16y8 intake manifold, its the type r manifold for sohc, then a exospeed sr909 cam costs $200 the specs are 294 degrees and 304 duration, nex a unorthodox racing crank pully, a prospeed ecu, get a header and an exhaust with 2.5 inch piping, a cam gear, all that should give u some really good hp, cuz the sohc zc is identical to the d16 a6 and that motor produced 113whp, and 113 torque, and the sohc zc has more power and torque, so ull deffinatley get some power from those mods hit me up if u want and i can tell u more about the parts hopefully that helps u out

- D16Y8 Intake Manifold, there is still a massive debate whether this makes more power over the D16Z6 manifold, just because it looks like the B18C5 IM doesn't mean it makes power like it. There are different things to take into account such as runner length/volumn and plenum diameter/volumn and where you want your powerband.
- Exospeed has been getting a lot of bad press lately, has the operation pulled itself back up and started shipping items in a timely fashion (As of late, no

- DO NOT GET ANY AFTERMARKET CRANK PULLEY, you will kiss you bearings good bye, it may not be now, it may not be 6 weeks from now, they will go. Harmonic stabilization is used for a reason, not because Honda thought it would a fun thing to do.
- Instead of getting a generic ECU, chip your OBD-0 setup with Turboedit and have it tuned on a dyno if you wish WITH your setup in hand, not with what someone thinks will work best.
- Hmm....I have nothing on the exhaust, just add resonators for pete's sake, no need to **** off the neighbors and the local hornets by sounding like a nest of pissed off bees everywhere.
- A cam gear doesn't "add" power, it just finds it and moves it around.
- I like the contradiction where you say the SOHC ZC and the D16A6 are the same and then 20 odd words later (max, didn't count) you say the SOHC ZC makes more power and torque. This is where I would like to agree on the fact...that you are wrong. The only discernable difference between the SOHC ZC motor and the D16A6 is a slight variation of the exhaust lobe of the camshaft (correct me if I am wrong on that fact or know of anything else). The pistons, head, valves, all the same; maybe there was a change in the ECU but it wouldn't be major.
- D16A6 produced 113 / 113? You wouldn't happen to be talking of my currently deceased motor now would you?

I purchased a Z6 that had one for about 9200 miles, ran the next 800 miles on a stock crank pulley and in that time a bearing spun..............I ragged the A6 to hell and back, no bearings went but I did lose a perfectly good piston and head in the process, ran the B2 to next month, lost piston rings due to age, yet a Z6 running an aluminum pulley {Clunk} The sound of my bearings commiting suicide.
im using the stage two crane cam.. feels nice... they say to use new stock valve springs but i didnt replace them.. im just waitin to do that when i get the head rebuilt and port and polished..
