Default Cable vs Hydro, ITR vs B16 tranny

Wasup ht.
My S1 blew a while ago. I'm about to buy either a YS1 cable or S80 hydro. As far as I know, hydralic trannys have a more defined shifting area so you're not "shifting in water". Other than that the only disadvantage I have is the $400 cable -> hydro kit I need to buy from hasport. End results $450 vs $1550. I've also herd the S80 is stronger but it has a longer gear ratio making my car slower.

the hydro trannies are easier to find, easier to find rebuild parts, get a 96 JDM ITR tranny LSD is a good thing

Me, personally, i would want the cable YS1 tranny, and then save up the $$ and have http://www.gear-speed.com completely redo the tranny. Carbon coated synchros, LSD install, and possibly a ITR final drive. But that's just me. I have 3 tranny's (2 cable, 1 hydro all, functional) so im working on a rebuilt one from gearspeed right now.

a full rebuild would run WAY more then a used ITR tranny

The s80/lsd in the japenese and eueropean intregra-r has a 4.785 final ratio..So I dont think it will make your car slower..But the usdm type-r s80 tranny is almost the same as the ys1 from 92-93 gsr/xsi..I'd do it ,,chances are the tranny's in good shape since its new...Im tired of all these old b-series cable trannys with there 3rd gear grinds..

hah mine grinds 2nd and 3rd as well as pops out of reverse or grinds. weird stuff. If i want gearspeed to redo it, can I take it to any of their distributors or do I need to send it to CA? How much dose that run.

By the way, it is a LSD JDM ITR with Kaaz LSD
