?? Planning to rebuild OE Denso alternator. OK to use generic brush set ??
Like the headline says, I'm planning to rebuild my old 170k Denso Alternator with new brushes. I wondering if I brush sets from Kraagen or Pepboys are okay to use? Or should I stick to OEM honda? Any differences in long-term durability?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

IMO, brushes are brushes. All made of the same carbon type materials. Clean the armature and make sure you don't have any really deep grooves on it that will prematurely wear the new brushes.
I wish I would have rebuilt mine when it needed it instead of buying a rebuilt. That extra $4 for the lifetime warranty came in handy when I had to replace it every six months though.
