"Hello,
My cousin has accepted your price, and he made out a certified cashiers check of($23,000) before he travelled to japan on a business trip,he budgeted for a car,but it was unfortunately sold. The amount on the check he deposited for the car is bigger than what should be paid to you now, so the check is now meant for the total expenses which includes the purchase of your car,the pick up of the
car from its present location and the shipping charges/other necessary
shipping arrangements. However he has instructed us to carry on with
this transaction. So you're required to deduct the cost of your car, which is
($17000)and send the balance of($6,000) to my cousin via western union
money transfer to enable him offsett shipping charges/arrangements.
once the transaction is concluded,My agent will be coming for the pick
up of the car from its present location, on an open vehicle and then
drive to a pre paid shipper for shipment, and also conclude other
necessary shipping arrangements.so you dont have to bother yourself
about the pick up and shipping arrangements, while title papers and
other necessary documets will be sent by you via fedex courier to my
customer.
Please Confirm this and provide name, address and phone
number for check payment to be delivered to you via
fedex courier .
Thanks and God bless,
Regards
Veronica."

Scam, look up a recent topic I posted in. Any time the buyer says it's for someone else that should throw up a red flag. Also sending you more money and you sending a return, again red flag. HTH.

No the scammer didn't buy the car, I just had to deal with a bunch of scammer emails and there were very few legit ones. I was stating that though I didn't recieve some of those scams, through all the BS I did also find a buyer from autotrader.
this part concerns me..
"So you're required to deduct the cost of your car, which is

which is basicly saying after the check clears, I send the remaining balance back to the person? and then they come pick up the car??

In a nut shell - the bank will cash the scammers check because it looks and feels real and you think everything is gravy and send the car off. Then when the check actually goes through processing and fails to clear YOU are held accountable.
So then you are stuck with no funds and no car!

The check, if it a foreign drawn check could take as long as 4-6weeks to clear depending on how fast the foreign bank responds. By that time you could be out your car and the $6000 you need to send back. I wouldn't do it if I were you. That is alot of money to be playing with, and why would you send $6000 more than required to someone you met on the internet?!?!?!
