im from MD and current temps have been ranging from 20° to 35°.... my suspension started to squeek a few days ago and ive only had it for about 3 months. im guessing its just the cold weather (snow/ice) that's doing this or maybe something else. anyone else with this setup having this issue?

btw, i never put these on full hard and full soft. fronts are one and a half turned from soft and rears are 1 full turn from soft

car is lowered probably 2" in the front and rear 1.75" there's minimal wheel gap all around.

I'm running the koni's and ground control's and haven't had a problem yet. This is now the seond winter its goin through in NY. Check your bushings, its usually the culprit when it comes to squeking.

im going to try and fully clean and lubricate my whole suspension this weekend.

 

k, yesterday morning it was squeeking......then late last night it wasn't squeeking. so maybe it is the weather.

 

I've had Koni yellows through 4 winters and no squeaks whatsoever. Might be a matter of the springs on teh GC upper mounts. Squeaks aren't always a bad thing though.

The squeaks are almost certainly not from the shocks themselves as there really isn't much of anything really to squeak except maybe the piston rod seal (highlu doubtfull) . It is almost certainly from some motion in the spring to spring perch connection. Make sure that there is some form of isolation and no chance for metal to metal contact when the spring is moving even slightly during suspension motion.

If you really want to try to find it, get an aerosol can of some kind of spray lube with a nozzle straw so you can aim it will. When you are driving and hear it squeak, spray a small amount on the chrome shock rod but don't get anywhere else. If the squeak goes away, you found your squeak. If it doesn't go away, you can go through a process of elimination by spraying the springs perch area bit by bit until you find it.

My old GMC 1 ton van had a front spring squeek until an alignment tech put a blob of grease on some spot on the lower spring then it shut up. It stayed gone until I was driving in a huge rain storm that washed the grease away then the squeak returned.

thanks, will try this sometime this weekend....its wayyyyyy to friggen cold to work on it outside.

 

I was just working under my car yesterday in below zero weather to pinpoint a squeak. It was the swaybar bushings that were squeaking on mine, I just put some more white lithium grease on it, and the squeak went away.

You can always jack up the car, put it on stands, load the suspension with a jack and release it quick (but not too quick). That's how I pinpointed the suspension squeaking problem.
