All B-Series trannys 95 and under do not have a VIN # on them. Only 96+ trannys have the VIN # on them.

Why are you all so quickly to place the blame on the police? Don't you realize that they are doing their part to catch car thieves and those with stolen parts?

If your transmission has threaded holes where the VIN should be and no VIN plate, it is shady and the cops have done their job correctly. There is no reason to remove a VIN plate unless the parts are stolen.

Wow that is crazy!! The cops go that far in the 619?? I have never heard of people w/a clip board searching your car. You must have attracted the attention bro(sorry to say). Now before you go off passing off all kinds of judgments about how stupid police are and such, imagine yourself in his position dude. There was no vin# Right off the bat it looks shady to them and they have no other choice but to investigate(and these things happen). If you say that your stuff was legit, then you will have no other choice but to prove it. Unless this was unreasonable for the cop to do this(which it wasn't) then you could have a civil lawsuit my friend but again I dont think it was. I' aint trying to be a dick about this, but I reckin that you need to get appropiate documents, witnesses, etc to prove that your parts were legit. If you can do that, you have a chance in court(which is where this is going). Good luck to you and sorry about your loss.

Good luck bro, i had a similar situation. I bought a car right after graduation and 2 weeks later got popped by a cop because they suspected it to be stolen. Find out that my vin# wasnt legit and it came off another teg. They impounded my car but, fortunately I was able to grab all my crap outta my car while it was at the impound.

He was at the street races, hence the BAR/SDPD crackdown.

Im really sorry to hear what happened. But you shouldnt have been there and to be honest, I kinda agree with the cops.

I've been going to the street races for nearly 11 years and I've since stopped going. My last race was earlier this year in Rosemead and it was raided. I tried to get away and really fucked up my car trying to do so, but I got caught anyways. They didnt tow my car, but I got a nice fine and 80 hours community service. Plus my car got banged up from trying to get away. It's just not worth it anymore.

But I dont call the cops ******s, they were doing their job. And I shouldnt have been there. I knew the risk of going to the races, and getting your car impounded is one of them. If you dont like the risk, dont go. Simple as that.

Go through the system and get your car back. Most likely you will have to pay out your ***, either to a lawyer or to the impound yard. Just chalk it up to experience and dont go back.

If you are gonna be going to the street races that is a chance you have to take. I've had friends cars towed for no front plates. My cousin had a brand new bong in his car once still in the plastic and they towed his car and completly stripped his integra on suspition of drugs. Left it taken apart we had to put the dash and interior all back together. That was a fucked ordeal right there. When **** becomes a big problem they have to deal with it a certain way.
Either take that chance and go or don't go. Sucks that it happened but you have to watch your Ps and Qs. These cops aren't ******* around.

so they tow my car for having no vin# on the tranny, and they let this integra go with an h22A motor in it... also we were all at a public gas station, not actually at the Race tracks so the cops didnt have any proof or evidence we were street racing. we could of been random ppl coming by to get gas and just so happened my car was an import..

The Integra got lucky, that’s all.

Sure, you could have been just a person passing through. But the truth is you weren’t, were you? No, you were in a fixed up import car going to or coming from the races. It’s called being at the wrong place at the wrong time, you shouldn’t have been there.

Are you serious??? Then that fool was one lucky bitch. Wow that is an outrage. I feel for you dude, I really do. I hope that your insurance doesn't try to get involved and see how they could profit from this. Hopefully you have a decent insurance carrier? Well just take this one step at a time and let stuff slowly fizzle out. Keep all your documentation and dont forget the due dates on fines, it only would get worse.

yeah iono if insurance will get into this but i juss called the person who sold me the car, he got this car from a dealer and im gonna have to get paperwork from this dealer. lol wow some dealer... and i heard that the cop who was incharge of this was on mtv: truelife life of a street racer same face and everythang ahahah , but ive calmed down a bit and realised street racing isnt worth it.. no more street racing fo my *** ahahah

but for all u ppl who are sayin **** like "cops did their job" if they were doing their job how come they didnt let me get ANYTHING OUTTA my car, not even my backpack or textbooks or ANYTHING.. when i even told them i have finals this week.. and how come it looked like they didnt give a F UCK when they were towing my car, my exhaust scraping about to break off, my front bumper i had to remove it because it was going to break off..
