Default 94 Integra with B18C5 and lots of mods for $2000 worth it? PICS

i can get this car for $2000 it has the b18c1 in but has the type R pistons, which i think makes it a C5(not sure). do you think it is worth it? i have listed all the mods below, there are more mods, but this is all that i can remember the guy saying. the engine was done by JG Engine dynamics

lock sleeves
Type R pistons
knife edge crank
titanium springs, retainers

sh*t, get it. Run a carfax report, do a compression test, drive it, if everything looks and feels good, $2K ain't nothing for that car. You can even resell it for at least $3500.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend buying someone else's project, but in this case, $2000 is a steal. You could part that out and make at least double if it doesn't work out for you.

i dont like buying someone elses projects either, but the guy im buying it from is my friend of mine that lives in a different city, he bought it for $1800 thinking to use it as a daily driver, but couldnt get it to pass smog because of some of the bolt ons. so he doesnt know what to do with it. my plans are to swap the motor into my 88 crx. and get a junk yard motor and put it back in the integra to resell. by the way... i haven't seen the car in person, can anyone tell what intake manifold it has.. stock? bbk?

stock gsr intake manifold, the car is well worth 2g. i would buy it take the stickers off and drive it. unless you have a whole lot of work already done to your crx is doesnt seem worth it to but a motor like that into it. you would still need mounts, and a tranny, not to mention make a custom ecu chip or convert it to obd1. fix the teg up. it is already pretty sweet.

i say go for it. You could part it out and make alot of your money back.

The motor is not a B18c5 though. It is simply a b18c1 with .8 higher compression ratio.
The B18c5 has different cams, different head (with hand port and polish), different pistons, and a different transmission.

But, the motor in that car is still a good deal. Get the thing compression checked and do what you planned to do. (swap it into your crx)

WHAT THE expletive i need to find a deal like this. 2000 bucks for a car in that shape! Yea its someone else's project but if you know the guy, and know he did it right by having a shop do it then you have no worries. The car is in great shape and the blue book is well worth OVER 2000k more like 4 or so.

Bottom line, if you don't pick this car up, i will personally come punch you in your ovaries.

LOL. I feel the same way. I would say go for it. It seems like a steal. I would run some basic tests on it like compression, leak down, etc.

and thats it....ITR engines have different(lighter) crank and rods, mild ported and polish, larger cams, stiffer valve springs, better intake manifold and a better transmission.
