what does it matter if you lose it or not? the car will start reguardless, and if its theives your worried about. immobilizer=half a second delay before the car is started. if thieves want it, they will get it

explain to me how they will start it? ive spent alot of time trying to figure out if i could bypass it and i couldnt figure it out. i agree with the part where u say if they want it they will get it but i would think it would be more of a delay than a "half second"

The immobilizer is in the ecu, so that means you will lose it.

Some thieves carry around extra ecu's, if they know yours is a 2000 or 2001, they will just swap it with a 99 or 98 ecu and drive away. Or tow it.

i wasnt questioning the fact that i will lose my immobilzer if i swapped ecus. i was askin how they would start it with out getting another ecu (assuming i have my stock 2001 ecu in)
