Default a6 pistons in y7 block

Hey guys
I have a question about my motor. The guy i bought my car from built it for "all motor" so it has a y7 block with a6 pistons and a y8 head. he said the a6 pistons raised the compression to around 11:1. Is that true?
i am wanting to turbo it but not if the comp. is that high.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Scott

Just buy a couple headgaskets and stack them. /sarcasm

For $150 you could buy the 9:1 SRP forged pistons I have, they're the ones W O T sold me that are worn a good amount. They'd last several thousand miles w/o issues if you got new rings with them ($250 total). The other solution would be vitaras ($130+), which would be just as loose, or wasting money on oem pistons.
