Default manual tranny onto auto engine, anything different?

If I pull a b series motor with an auto tranny, can i just plug-N-play a different manual transmission on there?

or is there something special needed?

thanks!

You'll need a custom conversion mount from Hasport as well..

so its a civic 5-speed chassis with a b-series tranny with a b20 long block? it should bolt right up and you can use your stock harness if its a manual car. but if its an automatic civic chassis thats another story

ya. for example, if i put a b20 engine that originally has a stock b20 automatic tranny into a civic chassis, and slap on the stock b16a2 tranny.

would the b16a2 tranny just bolt right up?

yes it will bolt up to the b20 from a crv. however honda also made a b20 in the 2nd gen preludes which will not bolt up to a b16a tranny

if it is an auto chassis, is there a big difference? Only heard that there's extra plugs. Didn't mean to thread jack but I'm just ls/v into a hatch.

u will need to remove the auto flexplate, buy yourself some manual flywheel bolts and bolt on the manual flywheel. Then align the clutch and the motor will go right on. The only difference is the upper bracket on the tranny will need to be changed if the car its going in was originally auto.

You will need to use 5spd flywheel bolts, NOT the flex plate bolts from the auto.

This guy doesn't have an auto chassis, but for those with AUTO chassis, there is another difference. The mount location for the transmission is different between auto and manual chassis. If you have an auto chassis, installing a manual transmission of either a B or D series, you will need a specail mount, we do offer this HASport mount -for those with auto chassis.
