Default Daily driver clutch selection...

How is a Stage 2 Clutch Disc and lightweight flywheel in a daily driver? I know my friends SR20DET swapped 240SX with a Stage 3 6-Puck clutch and OEM resurfaced flywheel is basically ****. I'm looking at a Gripforce Stage 2 Clutch and Fidanza 8lb flywheel...I've heard good reviews about both and they're not that pricey

I'm using a 6 puck ceramic clutch w/fidanza flywheel and its great. No driveability problems - just have to break in the clutch and you're good to go.

what kind of power is your car putting down. if your not putting down loads of power that makes you upgrade to a stronger clutch due to slippage, you are more than likely burning money. especially for a daily driver.

yeah really...a 6 puck clutch is a bit much for a daily driver....who even makes a 6 puck?? do you mean a 6 fingered disk?? or 6 seperate disks?? the last i heard a 3 disc clutch was the most made for an h22

After I get a nice header from RMF and put the DC ***** in the garbage I figure around 190whp or so.

Apexi V-AFC
AEM CAI
DC ***** Header, Catco High Flow Cat, 2.5" Custom Catback(but will get RMF header)
And a good tune after getting the RMF header.

What you think?

I'm not talking about a 6puck for the H series...my friend has one in his SR20 swapped 240SX and it's just a ******* pain. I'm looking at like a Stage2 setup with a Fidanza 8lb flywheel.

i wasnt rly talking to you...but whatever....you should have more like 200whp if you have a good tuner...

get the stage 3...the 2 is no better than the 1....not that you really need either...but if you must...

Wow, what a rare sight. A Honda guy who knows how to mod their car wisely. Good info!

All you need is an OEM Exedy clutch. Can be found for $120 shipped from clutchcityonline.

I wanted a LITTLE more reassurance since I track my car so I went with the Exedy stage 2. I paid ~$230 shipped for it. If I didn't track my car, I would've went with an OEM Exedy clutch. Exedy is the best clutch, and it is the cheapest priced too. Anything else is a waste.

I changed my OEM clutch because it was slipping like hell.

The clutch I went with was just an eBay clutch. Look at the picture -you'll see what I mean.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Also, its great for daily driving for me. Haven't had any problems at all - using a fidanza 8lb with it. When I put it in - didn't stall until the next day. Clutch pedal pressure is just the same as the oem clutch.

Cheap clutch - but it works. It "claims" to be able to hold 285 ft lbs - maybe - maybe not. We'll see i guess.

$160 bucks was a hell of a deal. Paid......less than 200 for the fidanza. So, i was overall satisfied.

Yeah, I have a Fidanza 8lb and an Exedy stage 2 thin disc...I mainly got that clutch because it is lighter than anything else. The driveability is fine (it just takes some getting used to), but the performance is well worth it.

Well, I sometimes will run at the drag strip...OEM Exedy is great...I had it in my last 4th gen H22 /w resurfaced OEM flywheel before it got totalled. And I actually bought it from ClutchCityOnline too hehe they're good people. But, like I said I strip this car a lil more too so...

LOL, I wouldn't say that. I just asked a similar question awhile back. I wanted to go with the ACT HDSS clutch because i plan on boosting in a couple of years. Thing is I can't really drive a stick to well, so I was convinced to start out with a lower graded OEM clutch. I ended up going with the Exedy stage 1 though. Just got my clutch on ebay for $206 before shipping. I did a search here to see if he was legit and he was, so i bought. The cheapest prices on ebay. Because before I get to boost I plan on adding things that will probably get me to 200whp. And then I can upgrade the clutch. If I don't get to boost I will still have a litter better holding power over OEM. Besides it is amazing what you can learn here my reading other post and using the search. I do more readinag than posting.

I'm not sure about the stage it was but I have an act 4 puck (solid hub) that is good to 500hp I think along with an act flywheel. I think its fine on the street but its definately harsher on engagement. But like some others said if you dont need it then you're wasting money that could be spent elswhere.

i'd stick with exedy and a known flywheel maker.

having to replace either the clutch or the flywheel is a pain in the ***.

for $200 yeah, it's cheap. but you get what you pay for...

Exedy is a proven clutch maker. Stick with them.

I will never buy from a different manufacturer.

I have a fidanza + exedy organic. Not sure if its considerd stage 1 or stage 2, but its 1 step above the oem. I like it alot, had it for 30k - only complaint is that mine chatters alot, but I'm the only person who seems to have that problem, everyone with the combo seems to be fine. I enjoy it, very streetable, not much different than stock, and you can minimize the chatter my reving higher/slipping less. Although I regretably didnt install mine myself, I have this itch to take it apart and resurface the fw to minimize the chatter. maybe if I get a beater down the road.

if you go exedy go with this guy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
i found him to be the cheapest on ebay by far for the stage 1. check out his sell ratings. 2weeks ago he was at 15000 sales. look at it now. I also did a search to see who all went with this guy. All replied positively. I got my shippment in a timely manner and everything was as described.
