1989 HOnda CRX HF
i did that swap in my 91 CRX HF...used pgmfi.org for the wiring(obd0-obd1)..91 SI tranny..92+ cat..88-91 CRX DX/SI e-pipe(had to cut the end off and replace it with the HF, it mounts differently and the end)..used all the stock mounts
WHat if any recommendations would be the best engine to swap the d15b6 to? I want more HP but i dont want to have to get a new transmittion..... I dont want a massive hp car but anything about 100 is better than 62.. any reccomendations???? im open to them.......and i need them asap ! thanks
just find a si head from a 89-91 civic/crx. and drop it on. that will bring you from 60hp to 109?. there kinda cheep too....or just swap in the whole si motor. plops right in.
with the z6 u have to do wirring for obd1 so you have to convert. and you need to add wires for vtec and the o2 sensor. and get a new computer too...

What are you talkin about..? The hf pistons have valve reliefs made for an 8 valve head,,and the si head is 16 valve..He would also have to swap out pistons to pistons to do this head swap..

No its a different code and has different fuel/timing maps ..SI ecu is PM6..
I think you should a whole 89-91 si d16a6 swap..Motor,tranny,ecu..Everything bolts in place and it'll be a big difference going from the hf motor to this..Around here people sell these whole swaps around $200 or less..Do an intake, header, and exhaust an be done with it..

hey,i drive a '91 Hf and two weekends ago i swapped in a '95 D15B7 motor which is a baseline '92-95 Lx/Dx motor, i think its like 102hp at the crank or so. its a very easy swap bolts right in and i bolted my Hf tranny up to it no problem (temporary until i fix my Si tranny). I kept the motor Obd0 using a PM6 from an '88-91 Si. its a very easy swap and had good results, definate power improvement.
THANKS ALOT EVERYONE!!!! I actually bought the zc dohc and tranny to put in it because i got a good price it came with the ECU also not sure if i need to put it in or not? any suggestions of stuff i need to know before i tackle putting it in? AND AGAIN THANKS ALOT FOR EVERYONE'S HELP!
sweet that what i was going to say
where did you get the motor from??
im going to get mine from hmotors
anyways here is a link for you and your ZC
it will tell you all you need to know
plus if your using a ZC tranny
you will need to change your axles
"The ZC trans. requires you to use ZC or 90-91 Integra axles, and a ZC intermediate shaft. Because these axles are equal length, many users report a reduction in torque steer."

your stock HF harness will work fine, there will be an extra plug that you wont use which is for the EGR, just let it hang. there will also be a couple extra vacuum lines(EGR again) i just plugged mine and it works fine. or you could do it the "right" way and get an SI map sensor, lol.
you will also need to add a couple wires for the CPS, try this http://rywire.com/store/produc...45208
hope this helps
