i changed my friends oil in his prelude 1k miles ago. his oil light turns on recently.
so he checks the dip stick, and fills it w/ 3 quarts of oil. my "?" is how the hell did his car burn 3 quarts of oil?.....
i checked for leaks, and there were none visible...
but his exhaust is thick and smells like burnt oil....
could it be his piston rings are waked?
he runs w/ synthetic, and is constantly street racing.....
are there any other posible problems?

 

What year and mileage? Got a compression gauge?

 

'98 lude, w/ 60k miles
mind you he races frequently, always runing to red line....
that's why i'm considering it be the piston rings.....
i have no clue on how to do a compression test....or have the tools for it...
what would i need?
