dust sheild needed?

Default dust sheild needed?

ok i jus put some coilover on and the dust sheild is jus sittin on top of the coilover and makes the car sits higher than stock....do i need the dust sheildon the shock?

Do you mean the dustboot? That black rubber sleeve with the accordion-section that protects the piston rod? Its basically a flimsy piece of rubber that you can compress with your fingers, I don't see that it would affect your car's ride height.

nope rubber...its the metal that sits under the cap......not the damper or the rubber its thing goes around it

the pic u post have rubber instead of metal.....maybe the rear have rubber...havnt gone to the back yet

i can remove it but dont know if it gonna mess with the shock....isnt that to block out the dust

They are the same thing, metal or rubber. It shouldn't make your car sit higher at all.

Some of the cars did have a stock steel dust cover and they can hit an aftermarket coil-over sleeve. You can either remove it or cut it shorter so that it does not hit. This is a common issue with drop-on coil-over sleeve its.

the metal is sittin on top of the sleeve cuasing the shock not be able to dam...

yea i finally took it off...and left it off....but wont it cause the shock to act the way they should after awhile...

it's not a big deal, though ideally it'd be nice to have a dust boot back there.

instead, you can just clean up your shocks and springs once in a while to compensate...
