damn that looks excellent. I want to make one for my accord cause no one makes anything for it. COuld you list where you got all the parts... AGAIN SWEET job. That look sweet
well all the parts are from home since my dad works with steel so its all custom made.. as for the ends of the bar i got them from Brafasco... it took some try and error but after a few days after work the end product was as seen above...
well see this is just the first part, im thinking where i can contact it too. i have 2 places that i can contact it to one being the trunk either the rear bar or trunk floor bar. then there is the b-pillar bar that i can creat and then contact it there as well.. the one is mostly the trunk since i can get a more solid pick but like i said its just a progress of testing.. but thanks for the comments....
I made a harness bar with the same concept, definetely not close to as good as yours though, I just welded a tab with an O on it to the bolt that goes into the seatbelt mount on both side, then welded an O tab onto the ends of a bar that went across, 2 m12 bolts to connect and some flat black paint and were golden
Cant decide if I am safe and golden enough to mount my harness on there or if itll snap

post a pic of it see if it is strong enough to hold the harness or not .... but i mean i could use that one as a harness holder or fab a new one to place behind my front seats that tab into the seatbelt point in front also tie in the rear one with it and then it might be good ...
Thats looks awesome. I made 2 of those, but for the DA chassis. I machined the brackets out of 6061 billet aluminum...identical to the EM Racing bar. They work really well, especially if you utilized right and left handed thread rod ends....you can really put some pressure or tension on those c-pillars.
I used DOM steel tubing for mine and tapped it at home...but if I did it again I would use 4130 and tig weld some thread tube adapters into the end. Its much stronger, more precise and MUCH easier....looks good too.
I had a request for making another one for the DA chassis and I somewhat passed on it because I didnt want to machine another set of brackets...but now that I have a tig welder I could do them just like you have done...just runa nice small bead right in the corner of the joints...when I did them before, all I had was the MIG welder.
Again, GREAT WORK!

thanks and yeah all was fab at home... took a few days since i dont have a full day to work on it but after a week it was done... i mean its not so hard and i also made it so i can remove it if need be.. i mean its a daily driver right now and so when i need to sit people in the back i can remove it but for the most part its in the car all the time...
as you mentioned above about mounting a harness off this, doesnt sound like a very good idea.
e.g if your travelling at 100 kmh (55mph i think) and you weigh 80kg and you come to a very sudden stop/impact with a non moving object etc, there is something like 8 ton acting on that bar at the point of impact, now im not exactly sure on the force so dont nit-pick about it but its a very large force that i personally wouldnt trust on that bar alone...other than that very nice fab job

Nicely done. It looks good.
Don't even think about putting a harness on it, good way to die. And suggestion, get longer through bolts for the rod ends, and lock nut them with at least 2 threads showing.

Mine too was removable as well, using clevis pins and hitch pins to hold the clevis pins in. Mine was also in almost all the time, but was nice being able to remove it.
As for mounting a harness to it....I'll third the suggestion of not mounting it to the C-Pillar bar. It may seem tight now and not flex at all, but as mentioned, when traveling at high speed and having your body weight plus the "G's" pushing forward against the harness, and ultimately pulling against the c-pillar bar, its going to bend forward and not provide proper restraint. Build a cage for it, or make a "B-Pillar" bar, reinforce it by using and x-brace between the c and b pillar bars, and then mount your harnesses to it.
GOOD LUCK!

well yes it does seem that the back seats are useless but ur wrong i can remove the bar and people can sit in the back. as for a full cage, havent got around into planning so since i had some time i figure i would try something out... i guess the idea of fabrication is to fab things and try them out if it works great if not back to the board
whats that hose wrapped around the two lower bars of your cage, wayyy to big for fuel unless you kep your radiator in the back, and anyway why you bother with a c pillar bar when youve got a full/semi full cage???

That hose is a tow strap that got used A LOT thanks to my friends with RX-7's, Skylines and Silvia's.
Why did I bother to build a C-Pillar bar? Because I had the time, the materials, the tools and the gumption to do it
. Hell, I don't need the rear tower bar with this cage. It came off of my previous setup and I didn't see any reason for it to collect dust
It's a full cage that is FIA approved. It's similar to the one in the pic below:
