For the price they look good... never used them though ... I like the

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...ition

Their stats seem to be a little higher than the BFG's, but I just realized that bridgestones prices have gone up a whole hell of a lot.

People on Tire Rack said that they would probably buy them again (8.6 of 10, out of 186 people) I would say give them a shot and see if you like them....

What size do you need?

I know the SO3 are good I used to work for Bridgestone but the price is just to high. I need 205/45/16

I e-mailed Neal@tirerack.com and he said that the BFGoodrich g-force sports have a slight edge on the Yoko es100 in terms of dry traction. Also mentioned that the BFG should last longer and ride quieter too.

They're NOT as good as the ES100.

They Tire Rack had a side-by-side comparison test between the g-Force Sport and the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712, and the Kumho beat the BFG. They also had a side-by-side comparison test between the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 and the Yokohama ES100, and the ES100 beat the Kumho in 23 out of 23 characteristics tested.

The BFG g-Force Sport does not perform as well as the ES100. And in many sizes, it's more expensive. Which makes it a no-brainer. Get the ES100 (or, alternatively, the new Kumho Ecsta SPT).

Incidentally, while I trust the Tire Rack tests (because they are conducted side by side on the same car on the same day), I don't put a lot of faith in those "user survey rating" numbers on the Tire Rack website, the ones that you're quoting. For one reason, people who report on one tire don't report on another, which might be even better. For another, they are too dependent on the user's expectations for that tire, which has a built-in bias. For example, the Yoko ES100 is well known in the enthusiast community, so those who hear a lot from other enthusiasts will hear good things about it, and their expectations for the ES100 are likely to be higher than the users (more non-enthusiasts) who buy the BFG. So the BFG may get better marks even though the ES100 offers better performance.

My main concern is the quietness of the tire. I hate loud tires, I would rather loose a little dry traction if the tire is a lot quieter.

Then get the Kumho Ecsta SPT.

In the side-by-side Tire Rack test (click here), the BFG g-Force Sport was rated worse for noise comfort than the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712. In another side-by-side Tire Rack test (click here), the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 was rated worse for noise comfort than the Yokohama ES100. In yet another test (click here), the Yokohama ES100 was rated worse for noise comfort than the Kumho Ecsta SPT. So the Kumho Ecsta SPT is the best of all of these tires for noise comfort.

I would take the Yoko ES100 or Kumho SPT over the BFG G-force KDW 2...

well, thats your opinion... ive tried the avs es100's and the KDW2's are much better in the dry.. and kuhmo's arent that great... if your going for price as an option, than the avs es100's are the best bang for the buck... but the KDW2's are IMO, much better

Yes, it is.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AEMPrelude916 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ive tried the avs es100's and the KDW2's are much better in the dry..</TD></TR></TABLE>

But there are better tires (in the dry) than the KDW2, for the same price or less.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AEMPrelude916 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">kuhmo's arent that great...</TD></TR></TABLE>

What are you basing that statement on? Have you tried their new Ecsta SPT tire? Or are you referring to some other Kumho tires - and if so, which one(s)? Because Kumho, like most brands, makes a wide variety of tires, everything from budget performance tires like the SPT, to value priced high performance tires like the MX, to sticky track tires like the V700, V710, and Victoracer, to good "bang for the buck" all-season tires like the ASX. Which ones have you actually tried? Or is that just another one of your... "opinions"?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AEMPrelude916 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">if your going for price as an option, than the avs es100's are the best bang for the buck... but the KDW2's are IMO, much better </TD></TR></TABLE>

IMO the KDW2 is an okay tire but it is overpriced for the performance it provides (or, another way of looking at it, it provides insufficient performance for its price). Just to cite two examples - the Kumho Ecsta MX and the Toyo T1-R are the top performance street tires in their manufacturers' line, and both provide substantially BETTER performance than the KDW2, for less money. That's the problem with the KDW2, and the reason why I don't recommend it; there are other tires around that offer more performance for less money.

Since Bimmerman is looking for a tire that's fairly quiet, it's also worth mentioning that the KDW2 is pretty darn noisy, even noisier than the ES100. And that's not just my "opinion"; the test results and survey responses on the Tire Rack website say the same thing.

i havent tried the new kumho's, but i had the ecsta ASX, and they werent that great..and the toyo's dont have a very long treadlife.. but also that depends on how you drive..and the KDW2 is somewhat noisy, but not terribly loud.. i cant hear it over my car anyways.. so it doesnt bother me...and ill agree, there is better bang for the buck tires, in the dry, but i live where it rains a lot, and all of the tires that i found, that had better dry performance, had little to no wet traction... the KDW2 was the best wet/dry tire i found, but it certainly is a little pricey...

PS... my second choice to the KDW2's, was indeed the avs es100...

so ill completely agree with all that you have argued..
