i gotta 93 1.5L 5 spd civic dx (D15B7). My dad and I just replaced the piston rings and bearings about a week ago. Now, when I drive it, it sounds/feels like its choking on the gas and has a hard time accelerating. Also, when idling, it stumbles and sometimes sounds like its going to stall. I'm also getting very bad vibration. Something with the fuel injectors maybe?

Oh... it also seems to run better while running cold; once it warms up, it runs like complete crap.

Any Ideas?

check timing. maybe you are off a tooth.

 

good when cold, not when hot... check for a vaccum leak.

already adjusted valves... gonna check timin again jus to make sure =/

 

could the Cat affect the way the cars runnin if its clogged with a bunch of crap? i failed inspection for emissions, and my dad said the cat gets clogged with exhaust junk and that might be affectin the way its runnin. should we jus replace that since we probly have to anyway for emissions?

 

check the engine timing. you have to use a special tool to measure it and adjust it.

 

a clogged cat will make the car run like crap. i had a really clogged exhaust system on my subaru wagon before and the car wouldnt even go. somehow, the restriction shot out the back of the car and i took off like a bat out of hell...i was on my way to the dealer...
