Can you guys help me find a distribution block for small (12) gauge wire? Ive searched google and audio sites for hours and can only find large gauge distribution boxes. I bought the smallest one I could find and my wires fall right out of it.
Im just trying to find a clean and easy way to split 12 gauge (or smaller) wire 5 ways to power my 5 gauges. I need to split power, ground, and light wire 5 ways each so thats alot of wires. Would like to keep it clean and organized.
Radioshack has some terminal strips but they kinda suck with the screws plus they are exposed which I dont like because it could be easily shorted out.

how does ur current distribution block work.
mine is made for a 4 gauge and has a big allen skrew in it. since yours falls out. try criping a ring connector on it, so when you skrew it down, it skrews into that ring.
now this will have to be the right size ring, if not you will have a lose connection.

The one I bought has a allen screw but its in the cylinder where the wire lays so the bottom isnt flat. Therefor there is some space at the bottom of the curve where a small wire can pull out of.
Making the wire fatter with your ring connector idea would work fine. I was just asking if anyone knows of a better distributor box on the market. If I cant find one Ill use your idea. thanks.

Yes that is exactly what I was asking for. But do you know if each bank is connected together or is 2 x 2 ?
I was thinking of something like this.
I was thinking of something like this.
They are not connected together, we will just do a daisy chain on the back, [1/2 side for ground and the other for power, or you can just use a fuse block http://www.bluesea.com/dept.asp?d_id=7463&l1=7463

Ah this sucks. I just need a clean way to split a small gauge wire a bunch of times. How do you audio guys do it?
So your Europa thing and my speaker terminal arent even connected between the terminals?

right. I need to find a 5 or 6 way splitter devise for small gauge wire. Im surprised how hard this has become for such a simple item. Thanks for your help by the way. Any other ideas?
Why can't you use a normal distrubution block and just solder the 5 power wires together and put them into the normal distrubution block's larger opening. Another idea is get a gold bolt and nut, and use ring terminals on the bolt to each of the wires. Then heatshrink/electrical tape the bundle. I know it's ghetto, but it would work.

Well if I was going to solder them together then I wouldnt need the distro block. And I was hoping to avoid ghetto and go with something clean. But apparently its impossible for someone to manufacture a device to split small gauge wire 5 way.
i think its just an uncommon size someone would want to split.. but good luck with it. you could always run all 5 into a bigger one and crimp them together or something.
You're looking for a barrier strip. Here's one:

They're available from 2-position up to 20+...
They work by running your main power into one end on one side, then you run small loops down the whole side (to connect all of the terminals together), then out to your device on the opposite side. Pretty easy, and looks clean.

go to an electrical wholesaler and you can buy the same terminal strips with little metal jumpers in place on one side so you bring power to that side and then branch out to wherever you want to go. personally i see nothing wrong with little jumpers made of 12awg wire. its easy, cheap and if you do it right it doenst look bad at all.
