Default should i buy this EF???

hi,

i have a 94 coupe now , and i used to have a 90 civic lx 4dr. tonight, i found an ad online and the person is selling a 88 civic dx, has rust and the motor runs rough, i emailed the person and his response was:

It has 192,xxx miles on it, its an auto trans, the
car runs right now and drives but doesnt have very
good idle just runs real ruff... i think just a tune
up will help, has new spark wires and spark plugs
and oil was changed.

the only thing setting me back is that its an auto and it has rust. the thing that i was thinking is if the spark plugs were changed, and it still runs rough, it could be enging problems? since a tune up is plugs, fuel filter, rotor, air filter, etc.

oh yea its just 100 bones

If that car craps out on you there is not much you can do to make your money back. EF Sedan parts are not really worth much. You can pretty much toss the interior becuase its either blue or brown. There are black ones but those are fairly rare. Unless it has a black interior in mint shape I wouldnt go for it.

192,xxx miles on an old Honda autobox isn't worth much investment, either.

ide only get it if it isnt gonna be your DD. You can convert it to manual when you swap it.

actually im not looking forward to making any money out of it, i kinda want a beater/DD just for fun if my primary car beraks down or something. ef sedans in my area go for like 800-1200 running, so 100 is ok, its like 2 days work

if the car needs major work like engine, trans, body, i wont pick it up, but i just want some input oh H-T. If i get it, i'll post pics up !
