Default Question about sway bars for my 99 SI.

Is it worth upgrading the stock SI sway bars to say CTR or ITR for a mostly DD car. Would there be a noticable diff?

Default Re: Question about sway bars for my 99 SI. (Bimmerman)

hell yes there is a difference. My 1.6EL has a 13mm rear sway bar stock and 23mm front sway bar stock. I installed a 22mm CTR with Beaks kit (subframe reinforcement is required) and its a huge difference on sharp corners. Long fast corners it dosen't seem to come into play alot, but fast or slow sharp corners (like on/off ramps) are where it makes a big difference.

If you like to play on corners, i'd recommend it. If you don't like to play, no real point of getting it.

I was hesitant on upgrading, but eventually found a mint CTR sway bar for a good price, i'm very happy I upgraded now and can't wait to try auto-x in the spring.
