Default honda-tech vs team-integra

I have had some questions on here for quite some time now and I have got 0 replies, yet when I posted the same questions on Team-Integra.com, I got replies the very next day. Can anyone tell me why it seems I can get more questions answered there and not here when it is all related, just posted on a different forum site? It is truely dissapointing to me, and I am a first time owner of an Integra, yet I feel more inclined to visit the Team Integra site more than this site.

I am not too sure why, but it is probably because there are more Integra drivers there? Hopefully you will find it much easier to get some help the next time you post. Good luck.

team integra is nice when you search for things. they are all about tegs. here you gotta dig a bit. there is just sooo much stuff on here. its a lil more free on here to speak your mind.

Honestly I find a good amount of TI people right here in this forum also. However I am on TI more than HT (own boosted gsr) and I find I get more responses on TI when I need info. although I also know many TI members too. Keep trying bro and hopefully you'll get an answer....did you try searching too?

I find TI to be very dumbed down and I never go anymore because of this. Every time I go into the FI forums part so many people believe and hear the wrong things. I just get angry and leave, not even post . This place is better for real tech help, TI is good for installing a new bumper or something

my question on this forum was a tech question and I got no help at all, integra or not they are all honda motor's and I am a first time owner and I don't know all the little "kwerks" to the honda motors and I got no response here but got plenty of them on TI. I was just asking to know why that was. I did't realize that there was so much on Honda-Tech that my simple question wouldn't be answered. And yes I did a search for anything relating to the topic and nothing was even remotely close to the prob's I'm having with my car.

to me i have found that honda-tech has been more useful then team-integra when it comes down to odd questions... but the articles and write ups on team-integra are really really good

You're telling me. The mods will lock up a thread for the stupidest reasons and repeat the same mantra "If you dont like it, leave."

I used to really like TI, but their egotistical, know it all mods really killed it for me.

Especially Morning Z, *****.

Yeah I said it.

Well now it has gone from just one question, to two questions. I have a 91 Integra 4 door with a b18, (that's all I know about the motor right now), and first off, my idle started going from about 1500 rpm to about 2500 rpm and back and forth and so on. All of this started happening after I did a full tune up and oil change, filters, fluids, etc. And sometimes the idle will drop so low, I think the car is going to die. It will go down to about 500 rpm in which I have never had a car with that low of an idle, and the whole car starts vibrating.
The next problem that I am having is, the transmission. It is an automatic and after driving it from home to the store about 5 minutes away, when I put it in park, the little light on the gauge cluster doesn't show that it is in park and even though it is, I can't get my key out of the ignition. I can shut the car off and start it back up again, but it won't let me turn the key all the way off so I can take my key out. If I let it sit for about 30 seconds to 5 minutes, then it will finally light up and let me turn the car off and take my key. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing either one of these problems and how could I go about fixing either one of them.
It would be GREATLY appreciated if anyone could help me out with either one of these problems. I am starting to regret buying a 2nd gen. and starting to wish I got a 3rd gen.

Thanks in advance

Well, for the first problem it sounds like it could be your IACV. Search for that term and you'll see tons of info on that.

I'm a member to both as well.. I believe both of them have their own pros and cons. On a couple ocassions I've gotten some great ideas and info from HT that TI did not think of. And TI is just a great close-knit community. Everyones got one thing on their minds... Integras! So that makes things easier. I also like how the site is organized. It has more colors and is more interesting. Also it has articles and sponsors, and special integra things u can buy like sweatshirts. I also like how it has the box on the home page that lists the most recent posts. That way theres more people that can quickly reply to your post since it's easilly seen. I also like how theres no bumping allowed.. it doesn't simply become a competition to who can bump their thread the most to get responses. Like I said though.. TI is obviously better for just Integras because it was specifically created for that. Honda-tech is great for.. honda's and not to mention they have some bad *** cars for sale in the for sale section most of the time!

What does "BUMP" mean and how do you do it? Also what does IACV mean and how do I check to see if that is what is wrong?

Another thing that is kind of annoying is that this is the last post that I can do because your only allowed 5 in a 24 hour period. I understand that they are trying to keep the posting down to a minimum but like now, I am trying to talk to you and figure out certain things and now I can't post anymore.

Anyway, if you would like to contact me some more and help me out or just talk about whatever, my yahoo ID is x_t_c_6_92000
Hope you can help.

IACV= Idle Air Control Valve. It's been known to cause the erratic idle you described, however it can also be other things. Start with the iacv though.

Bump is when you reply to your own thread so that it will go back to the top of the list. It's annoying sometimes, especially when no one can answer your question but you keep bumping it so it's first on the list of threads.

You're limited on posts because you're new and you really need to research old threads before posting new ones. For example: I told you to check out IACV and instead of doing so, you made a post asking for an explanation. If you had just searched, you would have found your answer and you wouldnt have had to use your last post to ask this question. See?
