The plates can be bolted to the floor, which after welding to my thin floor I would have bolted the plates in if I did it all over again. The thin floor doesn't sit well on my mind, but Tony1 suggested welding the plates to the rockers and I'm going to do that.

You can bolt the plates in. The only place where I was comfortable with the welding was in the back next to the shock towers. It's real thick there, but the floor has indentations in it and the plates have to be welded completely around, so even there it may be easier to bolt as well.
The plates have to be 6"x6", and the thickness I believe is 1/8, but don't quote me.

you only need 6x6 plates on main cage points such as the main hoop and front of the cage where it connects to the floor under the dash... a common misconception that people have is that the rear kicker bars have to have 6x6 plates too, but that is not the case, the rears can be any size plate, most recommendd would be to have a plate welded on to the strut tower...

I thought the same thing. Till it got inspected. I was told ALL plates have to be measured 6x6. So I guess it's up to the inspector.
Remember these rules are for YOUR saftey and the rest of us on the track.

Put the gun down...Step away from the welder!
.030 and don't use a 110v unit.
