O2 Sensor Failure/ Check Engine Light
I drive a 2000 Civic Si... I've been having a problem lately of my car managing to fry my o2 sensor. My check engine light always comes on telling me its toast. Seems to have o2 sensor failure every 2 months after putting in a new one... Its happened twice now and I dont want to have to keep paying a lot of money each time those things go out. I'm running a DC Sports 4 into 1 header with a Greddy mx sport exhaust. Any one ever heard of a problem like this?

Knowing the code may help narrow down the problem. Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the o2 at all?

I'm in the same boat brother. I have an Apex'i 4-2-1 header, stock cat and midpipe and Mugen Twinloop axleback. I already had to replace the primary (header) O2 sensor, and now a I have a CEL for code 67 ("catalyst system") that I assume probably means the secondary (cat) O2 needs replacing now, but damn those things are expensive

buy the simulator...that code is a bunch of bull crap....most likely when you take your code using the thread at the top of this 92-00 page...its going to come up 67...which is bull because i replaced everything with oem and it still comes up...im starting to think its a scheme to make money offa people

An o2 sensor isn't very likely to fix that.

Not really, sounds like you have cat failure. need to hook it up to a real diagnostic computer, like a snappon or something of that sort to find out what exactly it is.

get under your car and knock your cat with a stick or something...if its rattling...then its bad. I replaced my cat with a high flow and that code still comes up...so its really your call

buying a new after market cat is not a bad idea. But before doing this you really need to find out for sure that your cat is your problem.
