Check to see if you have spark. The Integra distributor failure is common.

It cant start unless it has spark. It need spark to burn the air/fuel mixture.

First find out if all the other cyclinders are getting spark.
IF they are then you have a problem with the wire, plug or even the distrib.

Look it over closely and get back to us with more details.

So does it have spark on the rest of the cylinders, like Bbasso said to check?

So it starts? If so, what are the rest of the symptoms now?

if it cranked slow when you tried to restart it, i'd put money on the fact that your alternator took a ****...

Sounds similar to a bad ICM (Ignitor) in the distributor. Check to see if you get voltage from the ICM and Coil. Do a search for how to check the voltage on those to see if they are good or if you have a Helms manual you can check in there for the proper procedures.

Good luck!

FYI: I have a good used '99 VTEC dizzy for $90/shipped if you (or anyone interested) want to swap out a complete dizzy since ICM's are mucho dinero. Worked fine on my ITR swap.

a buddy of mine just brought his air compressor over to run a compression test on my car and the compression was awesome across the board ...im really guessing it's either my alternator or my distributor...im gonna run to my friends work tomorrow and steal his battery so i can see if my car will start if i jump it

He said #3 had no spark before, then he replaced plugs and wires and now #3 has spark.

Try a fresh battery. If it starts then I'm gonna go with your alt is bad.

If one cylinder isn't getting spark i'd suspect wires.

You said you just put on new wires, so i'll guess it isn't the cause.

Next, I'd check the cap/rotor, see if the cap connections themselves have buildup or are in bad shape. After that I'd try swapping out the ignition coil... but if you have no spark on just 1 cylinder... and spark in the others... i'm doubting the coil is the issue.

After that it is going to be a matter of the expensive ignitor... then i'd try someone else's distributor as a check... if that fixes it... then you know.

I'd try it in steps, like you already are with the wires. Next for me would be inspection/replacement of cap/rotor.

ALSO, how are you checking for spark? Just curious as to the method you are using.

do you know of anyone who has a dizzy you could borrow and hook up? I would suggest trying that real fast. Only takes like 10 mins to swap out the dizzy. And if thats the problem I believe a new OEM one is like $500. Not cheap but not outrageous either.
