I have a jdm b16 sir 2. when we dropped the motor in we used 87 octane without knowing it was the wrong rating. I pulled the plugs to chang them a day before draining the fuel. I'm usin shell v power now and pulled my plugs a few weeks later. The tip part is white but the base is black. Would running my car a day before draining the fuel make my plugs white and stay white? We ran my car and it shoots out a very small amount of white, which people have told me means head gasket(which it isnt) or runing extremely lean. I'm running a jdm p30 ecu. What else could be making me run lean. After going to 93, my gas milage has gotten bad also. I know my o2 sensor is bad but I've always been told that it would cause me to run rich. Any suggestions would help. I am scared to detonate my block. Help!!!!!!!!!!!! Any help would be apreciated.
yes, a bad o2 can make you run lean too. use a multimeter and check the o2 output while you are driving to see what it thinks your car is doing. don't drive so hard right now, you can damage parts.
