Any tips for changing the Timing Belt??
i heard ppl said when you change the timing belt u need to mark the belt exact the mark on the gear.....what if u just put the belt in and wasn't exact the mark??
I think you need to get your hands on a repair manual for your year/model. Read thru the section & make sure you understand the markings before taking off the old belt.

Most important tip:
If you've just GOT to ask a question like that, please put down the hammer, back away from the car and get your ride to a repair shop.
Second most important tip:
Buy a repair manual
Third most important tip:
Listen to the nice man.
My attitude? Cuz I don't want to start you off on a job that could easily drag out to weeks, rather than hours. Both the crank belt and the cam sprockets have more then one mark (timing AND alignment) and if you're not familiar with both; you can really screw things up.

first off year and model would help.. the markls on a 1987 are different than on a 97 ..,, after that i would surely get a HELMS manual,,,,, if u plan on working on your car u should have 1 .. secondly read manual and decide if it is something u might want to do,,,,,,if so the hardest thing is probably to loosen up the crankshaft bolt unless u got impact tools and air compressor .... let me know if u rerally want to tackle the job ...
