Default Black smoke

My friends tell me that when i open up my car, it blows out a lot of black smoke. what do i have to change to make that stop?

It is caused by carbon. Your car may be running too rich. If it is completely stock don't worry about the smoke it is not bad.

running too rich is NOT a good thing...running that rich will eventually poison your cat... y0!

what is causing this? because my 92 integra gsr does the same thing. when ever i step on it and VTEC hits, black smoke comes out the exhaust. My friends 97 prelude did the same thing and honda changed his valve seals. His is ok now.

is that all it is? is valve seals? i have aem cai, headers, stock kinda exhaust.
