Default Need help... Questions on an F22 powered civic.

I have considered the SOHC F-series motor from the accord into a VX hatch for some time. But I have never really heard of many people doing this. There is one guy on SOHCHonda.com that is doing it, but I would like to know from more than just one person. Will the F22 have the same clearance problems as an h22? Will I have to get a custom linkage? Axles? I know Hasport H mounts will work. How much heavier is an F22 than a D16? Any info about this swap will be helpful. I don't want to hear "It's not worth it, go b-series." I want to keep my SOHC ninja. Links and input are welcomed and appreciated.

yup me too.

i think it would be easy compaired to putting the h into an eg. has to have less of a wire conversion.

all the parts are out there.

torque will be better than most b motors. but that damn 145 hp out of the sohc f...

there is a guy that has one here but it is strictly a 1/4 mile track car... sounds mean

F22 is so near the same as na h22 that you dont only have a slight diff in wiring to refelct the different head dimensions.

I have not done an f22, but I have put an f23 in a '94 civic dx coupe.
I've also put an h22 into a civic, so I can tell you that the process is the same.

-h22 mounts(f23 timing belt mount had to me modified, but I dont think the f22 would need it). We used jdmshit mounts.
-h22/accord shift linkage and shifter
-we used an accord 5spd intermediate shaft and '90-'93 integra axles.
-wiring will be similar, but simpler, cause no need for vtec wiring, IAB, or knock sensor.
-For the f23 we used an obd1 accord ex ecu. You would just need any obd1 accord non-vtec ecu.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I will answer the best I can. I did the swap 3 years ago for a friend, so some of the details might be a little groggy.

I can tell you that the f23 in the civic was damn fun to drive. Real torquey and a blast to autocross. The car seemed to get alot of attention, too. Just cause no one had seen an accord motor in a civic.
