Default quick question i must know.

Last night i was racing an is300 with my 05 dc5. I was in third and went to second instead of fourth. Of course, the RPM's maxed out and i was just wondering if that is really that bad. I have about 10500 miles on it. Its the first time its ever happened to me. Just let me know, thanks.

i did it in my 05 rsx-s too at the track. 8400 rpm in 3rd and threw 2nd. nothing happend, you got like a 50/50 chance of dropping a valve and destroying your motor tho. just don't do it again.

I did this with my old type r and did $4,000 damage CAD to the motor.......most common bad things that could happend are bent valves + spun rod bearing

Well, if you are worried go do a compression and leak down test. Or better yet pull the head and have a look. Chances are if you did not throw a cel or the motor is running ok then you may have lucked out. This all depends on how high you over revved.

how long did you stay in 2nd before you pushed the clutch in?

If it was longer than a second or two, you WILL have problems soon.
