Default Hook-Ups in Upland, CA

called about doing an LS vtec swap they said they don't provide vtec any ideas on what he means? on their website it says they do ls vtec swaps if anyone out there has done an ls vtec swap let me know what they mean and if $!280 is a reasonable price for the head and gasket with labor also oil lines wondering if he'll charge more to make it vtec.

he probably meant just the LS swap.. he probably doesn't have an LS/Vtec engine.

to make an LS engine (b18b1) into LS/Vtec, you would have to provide the proper oil lines from the block into the head. also you would need to use a VTEc head, such as b16a/b (jdm da tegs, or civic SI or civic type r) or b18c1/5 (GSR or type r)
the most common used for an LS/Vtec would be a b16a head, because it flows better than a GSR head. with this setup you should be able to pump out a good amount of horsepower.. around 175hp if you do it right.

I can put the head on etc for a small fee.

Ps. run a sandwitch adapter from the oil filter to feed the oil for the head.

I refuse to believe that $280 is for a vtec head, and labor to install.

$280 sounds about right to install everything, labor only. Plus parts. Meaning head, lines, gaskets and whatever else it takes to fully do the swap.

Post up what they say this weekend. If LS V is getting that cheap i might just have to think about doing it. But really i would guess a full swap with all the correct parts would be over $1000.

I dont undestand. What do you mean head, oil lines, and gasket but no vtec? You mean vtec wont be functional on your set up? That doesnt make sense, the $1280 it should be the complete job: wiring, ecu upgrade, labor.

Hook Ups isnt the only place to get your work done. Check out Raceline in Temple city, JG Engine Dynamics in alhambra, DPR in torrance, Church Auotmotive in torrance, Erick's Racing in torrance. Make a few calls and see what they have to offer.

Good luck

I looked at that and thought he might of ment $280, not 1280...opps

Also check out rage racing in upland. They are olny 1-2 miles away from hook-ups. Both of these places are members here on HT. I am pretty sure Hook-ups spend time in the civic forums, and I have seen the rage guys post here.
