Default Question regarding upper strut tower brace for 99 GSR....

I have a 99 GSR, is it worth it to change the stock upper strut tower brace with the neuspeed one, or is it a waste of money???

Me and many of my cronies say one piece of metal is as good as any other -- especially considering for that particular part of the car, measurable improvements would be REALLY hard to discern. So, save your $$$.

Based on the article below, strut tower bar is under TENSION as oppose to COMPRESSION during cornering.
There should not be a lot of difference when pulling on a stock holow bar vs. aftermarket solid bars.
JMHO as always. http://e30m3performance.com/myths/St...bar_theory.htm

Nice article. After reading that I wonder why more people don't spend the money on a rear tower brace instead. Since tegs are closer to 60/40, the front of our cars would have more force acting on them than a bimmer with 50/50. A quick calculation of that bimmer weighing 2700 pounds with 60/40 would have 400 pounds in the front.

Normally everyone recommends not getting the rear unless you are a serious racer. I think(need to do measurements) that the rear towers are lower than the front towers. If this is the case it is possible that the rear towers may have more force pulling on them than the fronts.

i have the neuspeed front.. i definitely noticed improvement over the stock one.. and i just got in the neuspeed rear tower bar.. not as much difference as the front. actually barely any difference at all. kinda a waste of $120. oh well. i got it more for aesthetic purposes anyway. just my experience. Now you're talking! Dollar for dollar, the ITR rear swaybar on a GSR is the most cost effective suspension upgrade you can do.
