Question about the spoon mono-block caliper on your dc2R?
Anyone installed the spoon mono-block caliper on your dc2R?
If i want to install the mono-block, what parts i need to change?
For dc2R, twin-block or mono-block have better brake performance.
Thanks!!

member moofx has the monoblocks on his car.
It will require the steel brackets that Spoon developed for the monoblock plus upsizing the rotor.
One that is completed, you will also have to run a 16inch wheel.
Because of the larger diameter rotor, the monoblock will have the overall better braking performance and likely better resistance to fade.
I currently use the twinblock and it is more than enough IMO.

You can have the best brake system out there, without sticky or stickier tires it's not going to brake any deeper or better. I run the twin-blocks, it's really all you need for the car.

What is the offset of JDM 16" wheel?
If i use TE37 16"x7 +42 offset, can i use the mono-block?
I am using the twin-block caliper, just want to upgrade the brake system. I want to use bigger brake disc (300mm) and large size piston's caliper to improve my braking system.
Here is my current brake system:

I believe the JDM 16in. wheel is a 50mm.
Unless somebody has tried your suggested combination, there's no way to really tell unless moofx or anybody else with the monoblock setup posts specific dmensions for you to measure before you buy.
When in doubt 5mm spacer or bigger is what I say....

really quick, if you want to the spoon mono blocks you will have to run a thicker rotor. basically you will need to run s2000 width rotors.
i'm running the twin blocks and they work great. unless you are thinking about a running a wheel combo larger than 16" on the track, the twins are the way to go. but if bling is your factor or you are going to be running 17 or larger wheels on the track, i say go for it.
if i could do it again. i'd try to run the mono blocks
