Default So i tryed a ebay chip comparred to my skunk 2 reflash ecu....details inside

ok guys and gals so i bought this chip off of ebay last week http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
eBay Motors: SPOON ECU CHIP JDM 88-91 HONDA CIVIC CRX PR3 B16A VTEC I got it today and desoldered my chip and installed the socket and new chip........ now the only reason why i got a new chip was cuz i bought this ecu (pr3 obd0 skunk2 chipped/burned). when i got the ecu i actually liked it right away. pulled hard down low and up high. at least compared to my old stock pwo ecu. but anyway the reason to get the new chip was because there was no rev limit . no digs on that . so what the hell just get a chip off ebay for next to nothing right........ wrong. sooooo...... i got the new "SPOON" chip in there. start it up..vrooom. all mint so far.. lets take it for a ride. it seems to drive ok....still driving and the car warms up and what not, so im just cruising and chillin on the throttle and the car starts to sputter BAD...wtf..then i punch it and you see my air/fuel guage (shitty narrow band) going lean for a couple sec hit rich and then go back to lean. not to mention it pulled worse then any B16 i ever been in in my life... i literally laughed to my boy (in pass seat) and even he looked at me and just shook his head. this program was even worse then my old STOCK pwo... so the lesson learned......... just do bre, and be happie. cuz my girl just got me the chipping kit from xenocron.com love it....

lol man... was it from an ebayer who supposably has a great feedback profile? hey if you can de and re solder a chip into your ecu.... you should be tunning your own maps and buying blank chips off of ebay..... not a so called "spoon" chip. try it, it's easy to learn.

Lesson learned, and it seems like you're going about things the right way now. Wideband is required when doing things like this. BRE rules, it's come a long way in a short time. I run it on my car and love it. If you can afford it, get the Ostrich emulator, nothing like uploading a whole new rom while driving down the road.

Awesome stuff, I know how you feel. When I went to a P06-Uber in my Prelude I loved how the torque curve changed.
