Default Finally decided on getting the Koni/GC set-up

Inspired by this thread by me a few months ago
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1356417

I have decided to get the Koni/GC set-up. Everyone who has them can't say enough good stuff about it. I had a hard time denying the rave reviews.

I'm just looking for some suggestions on spring rates. My current Tein coils are 8K/front and 6K/rear. The stiffness is fine but the bouncyness was the catylst to getting a whole new set-up.

What are some peoples views on equal spring rates front and back and also stiffer rates in the rear?

Car usage will be mainly street with track days next year(maybe 5-10days)

TIA

I usually tell people to order the springs directly from ground control. Then just tell them what your going to be using the car for, if it has/will have a motor swap, and your basic expectations. They will set you up with something that will make you very happy. Those guys know their stuff...

I was fortunate that the shop I ordered my springs from (a long time ago) got me some very good spring rates that have kept me very happy over the years (400f/250r on 94cx)...

Anyone else care to chime in with an opinion on the above questions?

I'm running Koni/GC with 450lb (8k) front springs and 400lb (7k) rears with an ITR rear sway and no front sway. It rides nice once I get the shock adjustments set right. At first I had it too soft in the front and it was too bouncy. It takes a little while of playing around with settings to get just right, so be patient with that.

As far as handling goes. I think my setup feels pretty neutral, but can be made to understeer or oversteer depending on how I drive (sharp lift in throttle while turning in make the back swing out nicely). I did my first autox with this setup a couple weeks ago and it was surprising how much oversteer I could get when I wanted it (and a bit more than I wanted one time).

I think my setup is a nice compromise between street drivability and handling. If it was a track only car I'd probably go a little higher on the rear rates, if I wanted a super soft ride I'd go down a bit. I think your choice of 8k/6k is a good place to start though.

I was going to get GC/Koni before I eventually settled on Buddy Club Racing-Spec. I called GC and stated I wanted to experiment with auto-x and use it as a daily driver. They recommended 380/430 for me even with my 22mm rear sway bar. but call them is your best bet, they have a guy there that auto-x his civic with 380/430 and a 22mm rear sway, so ask to speak with him

No doubt about it, CALL THEM!!! Order it straight from ground control. Tell them what you want and they'll hook you up. I am currently running 450fr/350rr. The ride is a little stiff for me. I'm weak. I also have an extra set of 550rr for the days when I feel like rotating around the circles. Stiffer rears = extra bounciness is all I have to say. Good luck and stay safe.
