Default what's the easiest Bseries swap to do in a 90 civic SI?

I'm about to buy one of these as a beater, but later down the road I might swap it just for ***** and giggles......what would be the easiest Bswap to go w/.? ls, B16, b18c1 ect......just wondering what ya'lls opinions are........or should I just boost it? I have a friend out here that boosted his Dseries w/like 10-12 lbs on a stock motor running strong on a homemade kit......all opinions welcome..as long as they are positive : )

The easiest B series swap would be one that's nonvtec and pre obd..No matter what though you'll still have to get mounts,linkage,axles..

The stock d16a6 motor with boost would be pretty fast..But its limited to low hp..B-series motor is a better platform,,although more expensive..

All b-series motors are pretty strong..The b20b/z has thinner cylinder walls but its still pretty stong as long as you dont go crazy with boost..

B18A with stock tranny, or B16 cable tranny if you can. No VTEC wiring, good for boosting. You still need axels, mounts, and ecu.

The LS motor is a great motor to do a turbo set up. The bottom end is built stronger. Now the B16A1 is a pretty easy, straight fwd swap to do. Yeah you have to get the axles, mounts, ecu, linkage, and wire your harness for VTEC, but thats pretty much it.

Everything depends on what OBD motor you choose. The newer the engine, the more work that is gonna have to be done, the harder the swap. Just use the search feature and look at all the swaps that have been done and what it took to get them done.

What do you mean the ls bottem end is built stronger?? The gsr motor has a gurdle making it stronger then the ls..And b16 rods are thicker then the ls motor. They all can support 300+ hp on stock block..But dont say the ls motor is built stronger

i like mine right now i put it in over the summer and only got to drive it for lik 150 miles. It took me awhole because i was using a 94 ls motor and it took awhile because the manifold was an obd1. for a starter swap ls is the way to go i feel. then you can eventually save for a b16 or gsr head and mildly build your block and boost it or just run and basic all motor and have torque and alot of potential and over all a fun motor for not that much money if you find a 90-91 teg wrecked or what ever buy the whole drop out for no more than 500-600 bucks pending miles

I think maybe he meant that the LS bottom end is stronger than a D-series bottom end (which it is). Also, LS swaps can be had for D-series prices, at least where I live.

Oh..I thought he meant the ls motor was built stronger then all the rest of the b-series..Because he said "The LS motor is a great motor to do a turbo set up. The bottom end is built stronger. Now the B16A1 is a pretty easy"..
