How do i change the heater core in my 92 civic ?

your a newbie, and your question is very general, so i will assume you don't have a lot of car wrenchin skills. Your not gonna be able to do this yourself without the Helms book.

As said previously, you must remove your dash. May we ask why you need to remove/replace it? Is your heat not working? Replacing the heater core should be the last resort, as there are a few reasons your heat will not work.

Clogged core hoses
Core valve not opening/closing
Temperature control rod not hooked up/damaged/bent
Thermostat stuck open/or not even there
Heater core not even hooked up
To a certain extent, if you're losing coolant badly (due to a headgasket leak, or coolant leak elsewhere), the heat may not come out at the correct temperature

 

I was about to take out my heater core and inspect it and/or clean it out, someone told me you can used compressed air set to low psi to clean it... My heat has never worked on my car, but the headgasket was blown as well so we will see how things go after my swap. I didnt know a blown headgasket could cause your heater to blow cold so maybe my problem will be solved.

 

well my heat just started to not work when i turn my heat on all u can smell is anti freez and my car over heats which also just started
