I have 2000 SI with about 61K miles on..
When I turn on my car, it sounds like whisle sound comming out from under the hood. If I rev up little bit, it goes off but it will come out again. Also If RPM drops down to 1K, it won't do it...but time to time I hear it...also.
What could be a problem...? Intake???
Please help...
p.s. I live in Chicago with really cold weather now... it just started when weather starts to get cold..

If you have an aftermarket intake, this is normal.

 

I have to change the intake, cuz when I bought my car it had a shitty intake in it...so this is normal??? if I don't have a stock intake system?

yep intakes make whistling noises so that what it isjust leave it alone and turn up your radio more, otherwise put the stock airbox back on
