Default how fast can a b16 tranny go

right now i got the lsvtec with ls tranny. I like cruising at 110 at 5K rpm's. What would my rpms be in a b16 tranny, and when does that tranny top out if I can rev to 8.

It depends on your overall wheel/tire diameter too, not just the gearing in the transmission itself.

I'd guess around 140mph top speed though, in theory.

I can tell you right now that a B16A tranny will put you around 5000rpm at only 80mph in 5th gear too!

That was the case in my wife's B16A2 powered 1992 Civic with 195/50/15 tires.

LS trannies suck ***** for acceleration though - screw highway rpm man, just get the B16A tranny.

With my 185/50/14 tires I am at about 4600 at 80 mph in my car. But then again,

I wouldn't sacrifice my tranny for better mpg.

And with the tires stated above, I figured a top speed of 148 in my car.

As B18C5-EH2 said, all of this depends on the tire diameter too. If I find the link for the diameter conversion, I will post it up.

Here's a link that might help you! http://fatboyraceworks.com/gea...are=1
Depending on your tire size and rpm! I believe you can hit 150mph, topping out in 5th.

Ahh beat me to it. That site is fun, playing with ratios and such.

If you're interested, I have a stock B16A 4.40 final drive (ring and pinion/countershaft) for sale. Will drop right in to your LS trans.
