Default RSX Type S Transmission problems?

I'm reading that the RSX reports a lot of transmission problems. Stuff about 2nd gear grinding and 3rd gear pop out. I hear its mostly on the base model RSX, but I've experienced the 3rd gear pop a few times in my Type-S. Are many people having the same problem? Anyone know what needs to be replaced in order to fix these problems? Any info please

take it to the dealer, they should fix it free (if they can replicate the problem...good luck)

Do that, if its under warrenty take it to them but make sure you take it at a time when it is happening so they can replicate the problem as ekferio said.

Also, for some reason I thought it was only the Type-S model... I thought that was the one the Service Bulletin was out for, not the base. Not 100% sure on that though.

Change your fluid to somethingl ike Redline or Synchromax...

i have had the TSB done....and a major tranny rebuild...and mine still grinds everyonce in a while....just be happy you have a NORMALLY smooth shifting gearbox. Alot of import guys cant say that.

i had the base model before and no problem with the 3rd gear, but 2nd gear was notchy most of the time...now with my new 05 the 3rd gear goes further in with a slight pause sometimes

I believe the problem is mostly with the Type-S model, not the base. My transmission has given me the third gear popout a good bit. I changed my fluid to GM Synchromesh and so far the pop-out hasn't happened yet. It still feels a bit notchy but I guess that's the way the tranny is. It's definitely smoother overall though.

I just got mine in Oct, it only has 2k miles. Should I just tell the dealer to change the fluid at the next scheduled service? I doubt they will though.
