1994 accord RPMs rev up and down constantly until car warms up
Aight i got a 1994 honda accord LX and when i start the car when its cold the engine revs up and down really fast until the car is warmd up. i herd that these accords have the problem with the idle control i got an AEM cold air intake on it which make the engine hard to warm up in the winter, but i dont know how to fix it i read peoples threads talking about a screw on the idle control valve but i cannot see to find it lol as stupid as it soundz. lol some one help me out with this. its annoying as hell! expecially with an ApexI 5.5 inch exhaust and a racing cat and a cat back Apexi exhaust an it is really numbing to hear the deepness lol (very nice exhaust tho)

I am having a similar problem. My 94 EX is doing the same thing except it only happens after the car has been driven for awhile. Do you think the ICV will fix that as well, and if so, what and where the hell is it? LOL. Please let me know. Thanks
do a search on it and there is a thread with pictures shoing where it is and how to remove it.
I thought it was IACV?
I also thought that if the car was revving during cold starts it could also be from the FITV?

i did that and still does it. Durring the summer however it didnt idle likee that when first started it only does it in the cold time. Like even if i drive around when it is cold for like 20 min it would still rev like that when i was at a red light but it wont do it so rough. could it be that a bolt or somthing on the idle air control valve needs to be adjusted and if i do adjust it will my idle be different when i am in idle either winter or summer? and does it being a 5speed make any diff?
maybe try looking at the FITV. I've heard that can be the cause of cold start idling problems. Here's a link, don't know if it would help you or not.

glad to hear you found the problem and posted back to say what was the problem for those people who search and read this thread in hopes of finding the answer to their same problem.

As long as it is something different, then you should start a new thread. But before you start a new thread make sure search first and try to find the answer that way, chances are it's been covered.
