Help ... need transmission advise
While doing a burnout in my '96 Integra I busted a motor mount. That caused the motor to torque extremely to one side and twist the transmission. The torqe rod (shifter stabilizer) broke it's mounting boss off the transmission case and now there is a nice little hole in the tranny. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so how did you fix it?
I could plug the hole with JB Weld that won't keep the mounting boss in place.
The trans works great and I can't afford to replace it ... used ones are running $600 to $1,000.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
Thanks

you could try bending a small piece of aluminum to the same contour of the place where the hole is, but cut it a little larger than the hole, basically what youre doing is making a patch, then you can jb weld that on there and it should be fine, just dont get the jb weld in the trans
should that fail to work, take it to a welding shop, they can do it for you
