do u even have a choice living in cali.

u are gonna have to pull some timing at the distributor.

get that thing tuned asap.

Sup im from fresno too.. Had that same exact set up dude.. It all depends what head u are going to use also.. with a b16 head the comp will be around 12.6-12.7.. With a gsr head the comp will be 13.2ish.. which will make a world of difference.. I ran an LSV with a b16 head and i never occured any pinging/detonation at all running on 91.. It was partially tuned

a gsr head will only raise compression by .2 compared to a b16 head

i had ctr pistons in my B18c1, my compression was ~13.2, i would think in an lsvtec with a pr3 head or a gsr head, your cr will still be over 13........
in my motor i had to use octane boost to stop the pinging, also on hot days... it pings very easily... this was on an untuned motor
we had better results when we used a thicker hg, and switched to a b16 to lower cr
but to answer your question.... get it tune and don't punch it

its weird how when i had the gsr head on, it idle fine...
but with the b16 head, every cold start... it would idle like a monster....
i don't know why there was a difference....
and i think you should dyno with what you will most often use...
and also dyno with race fuel... 2 chips, one for racing, one for daily driving
