A while ago I had my check engine light come on, and after going to the dealer ship and replacing a two way valve or something, then having another mechanic reset the code and tell me that it was due to me parking on hot pavement and evaporating or something. I don't know... So I purchasing a used OBD reader it came up with the code P1457, which is - "EVAP emmisions Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System). Does anyone know where I can start or what I should do to solve the problem. Thanks for any help in advance.

 

Year and model? Some of em have known problems.

it could be the purge valve on the canister, the gas cap bad or not tight or the fuel tank not sealed properly ... this can be a really tough thing to check if you dont have the proper tools
