Default best booom for the buck?? wich sub woofers to buy??

this christmas, im buying myself some new sub woofers.
I used to have 2 12" audio bahns, with a 1000watt amp. that sounded incredible, i loved them so much, but they both blew within a year. then someone stole them, so i no longer have the box for them.
My friend hooked me up with a box that fits 2 10"s so my question is, whats the best 10"subs, out there that are $120 ea. or cheaper? cause my budget is $300 for 2 10"s and a new amp.

Go with diamond if you can find them, really good quality clear sounding sub woofers. Volfenhag aren't actually that bad for what you pay for them.

If you searched hard enough you could find some Kickers for under that. That is what I have and I love them.

BTW, this would have been a good topic for Audio, Security, etc. but whatever's clever.

No one can knowledgeably suggest a sub to you unless you provide them with the amplifier you have to power the subs with, and the volume of the box for the subs, and whether its ported or sealed.

I have my diamond 12 D3 in a slot ported box that i've spent about a week perfecting and tuning....only 300 wats to it right now and its as loud as my old system with 2 12s and 1k watts. Building a good box is part of the challenge of getting a sub to knock hard.

I will secound this guy i have a friend with alpines and a kicker and i will tell you that my diamond m610d2 sounds way way better than theirs and hits harder with rap music... i paid about 160$ and was the best speaker ive ever heard

EDIT: Also i just want to say that for 300$ you wont get something great quality. The box is very important and each box should be custome made to the specifics of the sub. Get about another 150$ and spend 160 on an audobahn amp (800watts RMS) diamond sub 160$ and then a custome made box abound 120$

dont buy more audiobahn. its junk thats why it blew. it is made in a factory in taiwan with dozens of other shitty brands. it amazes me that anyone buys that stuff with the build quality it is, it is one of those products you can just look at and tell that its cheap junk.
$300 isnt a feasible budget.
My 2 subs and amp retail for about $1100 you get what you pay for.

I love the ignorance on this subject.

There are people out there that will take $50 subs and make them louder and sound better than any of you ghetto bangers out there, no matter how expensive of a sub you bought and put in a prefab box.

I've owned the IDQ12, IDW15, IDMAX12, and I'm currently rocking an IDQ10, along with the Chameleon components up front.

Thats just what I've owned from ID. Woot.

IDW15 = ownage.

Fixed.

Personally, hit up some ebay action. If you are not a complete moron, you can buy some nice stuff on the cheap. Memphis products are always nice, and the Power Reference stuff is pretty cheap, even new. You found out for yourself already that Audiobahn sucks. You could probably find yourself some older JL W0 woofers cheap. They're OK. MTX 5500's are very nice also, as are the Xtant A series woofers, as they are the same thing. For an amplifier, I would buy MTX, Memphis, or Xtant, or an OLD PPI. <------ My weapon of choice. Awesome stuff.

i'm still rocking my us amps usa-100 and 2 oz audio 10's. hits pretty hard.

as for something new. alpine type-r's are good, as are jl's, but in all seriousness. audiobahn alumapro's arent THAT bad of a sub. the problem is that people dont know how to tune the amp correctly. so they shove a **** load of distortion through them and they blow. well guess what, if you do that to any sub it will blow.

my old shop had a audiobahn sponsored shop vehicle. it had 8 alumapro 12's powered buy orion amps. it would destroy anything as far as spl, once we installed the front stage it was a killer sq machine too.

so get what you want, but tune it right. otherwise you'll blow them too.

Not to jack the thread but I am in a similar situation. I need one 12 inch sub. I have a sealed box that I don't know the dimensions on.

I also have a 4 channel Zapco amp. I am currently using two channels for my 6x9's and will use the other two for the sub.

The sub will not get a whole lot of power but when I used this set up on a 600 watt Pioneer Sub it had no problem pushing it. I'm kind of partial to Alpine stuff but is their anything else out there that might sound better with this setup.

Oh I mainly listen non-rap type music.

Thanks

I think 1 10 is enough but since you already have a box check out onlinecarstereo.com and double check that price on pricegrabber.com
