Automatic transmission slipping, hard shifter
Sup everyone. A while back i did a swap for a friend in his 95 auto ex, swapped out the stock motor(spun bearing) for a d15b v-attack. Needless to say it was tough cus i'd never worked with all the extra BS that an auto tranny brings into the mix. But anyway, when i got everything back together, i noticed that it was hard to shift the gears in the car, you could get from park to reverse, but it was hard to get to the drive gears. I dont know if i reinstalled something wrong, or screwed up the shift cable or something (i had a struggle tryin to figure out how to uninstall it), but he drove it like that for a while. Now probably about a month or 2 later, the trans slips i guess. Its like it has to rev up to around 5k he says before it starts goin, and he says really hard to get it into drive gear at all. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a problem with the trans itself, or maybe just something with the shifter and shifter cable. ANY thoughts on this subject are greatly appreciated as i know nothing about auto tranny's.
Also, I'm tryin to find him another auto trans if i need to get one, so anyone in the Chicagoland area that has an auto trans shoot me a pm. Thanks!

Yep, the oil has been changed.
I was driving around in the car last nite and got a better idea of what it does. Its definately slipping, feels like the gear selector isnt into gear all the way or something and maybe that damaged the interals of the trans. He'll have to like slowly rev up to around 4k, and then it'll start goin. Car drives like its a manual. I can hear some noise coming from around the torque convertor area of the trans. Kinda like a clicking type sound. Definately doesnt sound good.

When i did the swap, i noticed that the torque converter was blue, and it had a date marked on it in like yellow marker or sumthing i think, so i believe at least the convertor has been changed before. Is there anyway that the trans could have been put back on wrong? Like maybe forced into the convertor the wrong way?
