The EP3 is the 02-05 Civic Si hatch, the ugly minivan one, and the CTR was on that frame. There is no 2006 Civic Type-R. The Civic hatchback in Europe right now has a Type-R concept, u can find that pic on TOV or somethin. But no, there exists none at the moment.
sorry, i think you misunderstand. sleepinEP3 said that the last EP3 was built a couple months ago, and GK said that they were never built in japan.
so my question was about the JDM CTR, which i thought was also the EP3. it wasnt about the 2006 CTR, i know there isnt one

I went to the Honda Dealership here in Stuttgart, Germany on friday to look at one of the 2006 civics they have in stock and the dealership guy said there will be a Type-R in the spring of the new body style in. It'll be a K24 style with about 250hp in the new 5 door body style. I'll have pics of the new civic some time this week when I go back there.

you can be 100% sure. only logical as the EP3-R was at the top of its class in Europe, and they sold more there then America and Japan combined.

It seems to be a cult classic in Germany and Britain. I've not anything like it since the DC2 Type R in the USA around 2000-2002.
Despite the US bashing the McPherson EP3 Si took, the EP3 CTR beat all its hot hatch competition around a road course (stock for stock), and this is a very popular concept in Britain and Europe.

I think this is more likely to become available here in the states.

hahah yea right, an si concept for the type r, you got to be kidding me. first of all if anything the type r is going to be a hatchback, everysingle type r that has ever been made has been a hatchback (period). and they showed protypes before, leaning towards a 5 door hatchback. engine wise no one knows, and with the coment above saying its going to be a k24, w/250hp (hmm i highly doubt that).
also japan does not have a coupe civic, only 4 door, and also the front end and headlights are different, (imo looks better).
